How can you not love the 00s ?
Seriously ?

"In Radiohead's new video for "House of Cards", no cameras or lights were used. Instead, 3D plotting technologies collected information about the shapes and relative distances of objects. The video was created entirely with visualizations of that data."

The data and the software used to visualize them are available here : http://code.google.com/p/radiohead/downloads/list

I know most people disagree with me, but Radiohead started disgusting me with their desire to embrace new technological fads since OK Computer. It's just marketing.

I dunno, it's kinda hard.. how do you embrace today's technology without having it called marketing ? it's not like they are doing lame live concerts on Second Life ;)

I haven't followed their career after Kid A at all, but my main concern with that was that it was an era when although underground music genres and less-known bands were embracing and experimenting with the electronic element, almost no hip, "alternative" superband with guitars had done it. In come radiohead, and come up with an album everybody loves. And although it's not bad at all, I rather like it too, it was oh-so-convenient. More importantly, to me at least, it was as if they wanted to put some electronic element there, without really embracing it and incorporating it to end up with an aesthetical result that suited their style, and the songs themselves. It was just throwing the electronic in, just in time to be innovative.

that's how i feel about ok computah. and this was a hint as to their greater marketing stance for me, and every little thing they've done since confirmed it for me: embrace the tech.

plus, i'm super-pissed off because Radiohead charged 50 euros for a concert in Thessaloniki, in a time when all others (and some were quite big too) charged 30 euro max. of course i didn't go. the bends was an amazing album for me, but it ended there. for me obviously.

maybe i'm not being fair, but it's not as if Tom Yorke's going to cry himself to sleep tonight :D

Some 7 years ago, I used 3-D scanners (plotting technologies) to collect data about some discontinued ships. It was very similar to what you see in the clips of neighborhood scenes here. :)

That was 7 years ago ... Radiohead is not on the cutting edge :p
(But I still love them!)
